As you prepare to complete a Literature Review it is important to understand the writing genre. For this assignment, you will be tasked with completing a critical review
Learning Outcomes
Identify the strengths and weaknesses of the article
Evaluate the usefulness of the source for the research topic;
Compares to other books, articles, etc. on the same topic.
Guidelines
Read and annotate a scholarly article of your choosing. Provide an ASA or APA formatted bibliographic references.
Write a 1-2 pg review. Reviews should address the following:
What is the central argument? What evidence is used to support this argument?
Can you work out the steps of the argument being presented? Has the author(s) explained the results in a clear and succinct way? Do all the steps follow logically?
What are the key concepts/terminology/vocabulary?
What are the strengths and weaknesses of the article?
What are the major findings presented in the paper?
Are all conclusions backed up by evidence? Could a different conclusion be drawn from the argument being presented? Has the author jumped to a conclusion about anything or made assumptions that are not backed up by evidence?
How could this article inform your research topic?
Choose one theme present in the article and identify three citations for related articles in the bibliography. Provide an ASA or APA formatted bibliographic references
