Read Chapter 7 of your text and give special focus to pages 243-249. How do friendships relate to the emotional, cognitive, and social development throughout an individual’s lifetime? Think back on the friends you had during adolescence. What did your friendships during this period in your life tell you about yourself? How can friendships help an individual to grow socially during adolescence? How can certain friendships damage our self-esteem and the development of our identity? How can friendships help an individual to better understand themselves and their development? How can you better understand a person by looking at their friendships? Are you pleased with the impact your current friends have on your life? Do your friends make you want to be a better person?
